Search Institute Attitudes and Behavior Survey Results

Below is a PDF of the executive summary of the results of the ERCCC Search Survey that was conducted in spring 2019. The ERCCC worked with the Search Institute to administer an Attitude and Behaviors survey to our community youth. Below is a description of the survey, from the Search Institute’s website.

“The Attitudes and Behaviors (A&B) Survey gives a snapshot of the current experiences of your adolescent youth in your school, program or community.

This widely used survey is a reliable and valid assessment of the strengths, supports, and social-emotional factors essential for young people’s success in school and life. It grows out of more than 25 years of research with millions of young people based on The Search Institute’s framework of Developmental Assets.

It measures:

  • The 40 Developmental Assets
  • 24 youth risk behaviors
  • 10 high-risk behavior patterns
  • 5 developmental deficits
  • 8 thriving indicators
  • Four Core Measures required of Drug Free Communities grantees”

Our very own Eva Ortiz worked to examine this data more closely and created a presentation which she has been sharing with different groups in the community. You can see her presentation below:

You can watch Eva present to ER9 Tri-Board at the link below. The video is the entire tri-board meeting. Eva’s presentation starts around 47:00 minutes
